Amazon Kindle – The e-book for You


The Amazon Kindle is a series of e-book readers produced by Amazon Kindle enable users to shop , download, browse, and read e-books, newspapers , magazines, blogs, and other digital media via wireless networking.

Versions and Types of Amazon Kindle :

Amazon gave various generations of  kindles to its e-readers. They were like E-Ink the first generation of kindle. It sold out in five and a half hours. It the only kindle with the expandable memory via SD card slot. Amazon did not sell the Kindle First Generation outside the United States.

Amazon Kindle 2:

Then came the 2nd generation kindle which was known by the name of kindle2. The Kindle 2 features a text-to-speech option to read the text aloud, and 2 GB of internal memory of which 1.4 GB is user-accessible. Amazon stopped selling the original Kindle 2 in favour of the international version. After that the third generation of kindle which was kindle keyboard Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi/3G. The Kindle Keyboard is available in two versions. One of these was the Kindle Wi-Fi that connects to the Internet exclusively via Wi-Fi networks. The other version was the replacement of the Kindle 2 it included both 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity. The built-in free 3G connectivity uses the same wireless signals that cell phones use, allowing it to download and purchase content from any location with cell service. The Kindle Keyboard with 3G is available in two colours: classic white and graphite.

Amazon Paper White Kindle and Amazon Kindle Fire :

After the third generation kindle another kindle was introduced in 2012 which is known as paper white kindle and kindle fire. The Kindle Paper white was released on October 1, 2012. It has a 6″, 212 displays with built-in light. Battery life is advertised at up to 8 weeks of reading, half an hour per day with wireless off and constant light usage. Instead of publishing the exact screen resolution of its E Ink display. Amazon announced an Android-based tablet with e Ink display. The Kindle Fire also lacks a microphone, camera, and SD card reader. It has 8GB of storage and a projected battery life of up to eight hours.

Amazon Kindle Fire HD :

 The Kindle Fire HD is the second generation of Amazon’s colour touch screen Kindle Fire tablet line announced on September 6, 2012. It is available in two form factors, 7 inch and 8.9 inch. The 7 inch version was released on September 14, while the 8.9 inch model will be released on November 20, 2012. It is available for pre-order as of September 6, 2012 in the United States and October 25, 2012 in France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom. The 8.9 inch model will currently only be released in the United States.

 Amazon Technology – Pearl e-Link :

The Pearl e-ink technology makes reading user’s favourite books on this electronic device similar to the experience of reading on a printed page, both indoors and out. This device is perfect for taking on long road trips. Its compact size fits easily into your travel bag, and user can store hundreds of your favourite novels, magazines, and newspapers. The screen minimizes glare and therefore eye strain, making it the perfect travel companion. The Kindle is Wi-Fi equipped, so if user simply can’t find the reading material they want, they can download new titles from the Amazon Store on the go. The resilient battery will keep users reading for weeks at a time between charges.

Curling up on the couch with a good book is great, but doing it with your favourite music playing in the background is euphoric. The price point for the Kindle is awesome, but user must pay for all accessories, including essentials such as a case and AC adapter. Such accessories can increase the price considerably. E- Amazon Kindle still reigns supreme in the world of e-readers. Users won’t get any of the extras, such as Internet browsing, gaming, or other neat features on more sophisticated tablet computers, but make no mistake – though this e-reader is a one-trick pony, it performs its function flawlessly.
