dos chat

It might sound weird, but it’s really fun to do. You can actually chat with your friends through MS DOS by following this simple trick. I wonder, what do you call this? DOS Chat? Whatever you call it, doesn’t matter. We just want to have some fun and freak out our friends. Lets roll it!

dos chat

Steps To Configure Your PC:

1. All you need is your friends IP address and Command Prompt.

2. Open notepad and write this code as it is. I would suggest you to copy this.

@echo off
:A
Cls
echo MESSENGER
set /p n=User:
set /p m=Message:
net send %n% %m%
Pause
Goto A

3. Now go to File and select Save.

4. Choose “Any type” from the file type menu so that you can save a batch file.

5. Type “Messenger.bat” (without quotes) in file name field and click save.

6. Drag this file (.bat file) over to Command Prompt and press enter!

7. You would then see some thing like this:

MESSENGER
User:

8. After “User”, type the IP address of the computer you want to contact. (IP address of your friend’s computer, in our case)

9. Before you press “Enter” it should look something like this:

MESSENGER
User: IP_Address User: IP_Address
Message: Hi, How are you ? Message: Hi, How are you?

8. Now all you need to do is press “Enter”, and start chatting.

Changing the letter (A) doesn’t do anything. You guys are retarded. That’s where it jumps after it ends. Makes a loop. (goto A)

hi there, XP users have to have the messenger service running on their pc to be able to recieve messages, enable it by right clicking my computer/manage go to services then start the messenger service and set it to automatic,

vista users have to go to enable it in add and remove components / its on the left when in add and remove programs, make sure the message queuing’s box is ticked then click ok.

you should be able to now send / recieve messages to each other. this is normally for network admin to send everyone on the network a message. hope this helps, feel free to add or correct this.

    Hi

I want to know whether this technique works with any two computers connected through internet… or only with the pc’s in a LAN network…

I tried this and getting an syntax error message :

    MESSENGER
    User: ip address(***.**.**.**)
    Message: message

An error occurred while sending a message to 121.121.123.2.
The message alias could not be found on the network.

You are receiving a syntax error since you copy pasted the ext without changing A: to whatever drive your system is running on usually C: by default

Well obviously it is because this is usable when computers are connected to a network or something.
