As I know everyone has heard the news about Windows 8 being released to manufacturing (RTM). Release to manufacturing is actually the final version developed after releasing and testing its alpha and beta releases. Two days ago Windows 8 RTM was available to TechNet and MSDN subscribers. And if you’re not a member to any of these websites, than you have to wait until October 26th, 2012 to get a copy of Windows 8.
But now Microsoft is going to release an absolutely free 90-day trial version of Windows 8 RTM to public. So everyone can download and use it for free for 3-months. Apparently they are allowing you to download Windows 8 Enterprise edition, though both 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x64) ISO images are available for download.
Windows 8 RTM is supported in following languages: English, English (UK), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil), Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), and Spanish.
No product key is needed to install Windows 8 RTM, but you have to activate it within 10 days after installing it on your system. I for any reason you fail to activate in within 10 day, then your desktop will turn black with a persistent desktop notification saying that the system is not genuine. Also your PC will shut down itself after every hour losing unsaved work.
What You Need To Run Windows 8 RTM (System Requirements)
- Processor: 1GHz or fater
- RAM: 1GB (32-bit) or 2GB (64-bit)
- Hard Drive: 20GB
- Graphics Card: DirectX 9 compatible graphics devices with WDDM driver
Note: In order to run apps and access Windows store, you need at least 1024×768 resolution monitor. To snap apps, you need a monitor which supports minimum 1366×768 resolutions. You’ll need to have at least a hotmail account or Windows Live ID to download Windows 8 RTM. Don’t worry both these services are free for everyone.
Closing Words: Microsoft is releasing Windows 8 RTM to public in order to stop people from downloading their pirated version from file hosting services and torrent sites. When you can download Windows 8 RTM for free from their official website, then why go for pirated version of Windows 8 RTM. I personally tested these links found them working.
