When it comes to product releases, India is not one of the first name that comes to manufacturer’s mind even though it is one of he biggest emerging markets of smartphones. So we guys here are used to he idea of late product releases or no product release at all. But the scene seems to be changing now as more and more companies are now turning to India with their product. After Xiaomi with Redmi 1S, Redmi Note and Mi 3 and OnePlus One, it is now Google who have entered the Indian market with the Google Chromecast.
For those of you who dont know, the Google Chromecast is a media streaming device for your smart TV or like these are being called these days, Android TV Sticks. These devices let you access services like the interent, YouTube, NetFlix and even the Google Play Store right on your smart TV. The Chromecast plugs right into your TV’s HDMI port. Thats all you have to do to convert your normal TV into and Android based smart TV.
The Chromecast has finally arrived to the Indian market. The media streaming device for your TV is now available for people in India to grab for INR 2,999. The device will also be made available on the Google Play Store India soon. This price converts to about $48 which is slightly higher than the expected price. The Google Chromecast is available in the US for $35 where it was released over a year and a half ago. Although it took a while for the device to come to India but we sure are glad it has finally arrived.
The device is available for you to buy from Snapdeal, Airtel stores across the nation INR 2,999. Airtel is the biggest telcommunication carrier in India and has some pretty exciting offers with the Chromecast. You’ll get 60 GB worth of usage on the Chromecast on the Airtel internet network. If you don’t have an Airtel broaband internet connection, do not worry as Airtel is also giving away free broadband internet subscription if you don’t already have one.
If you do not seem intrigued by the Chromecast, do not worry as you have some other interesting options available in the market too.
