Google unveils Nexus 7 tablet (part 1)

Google has finally unwrapped its iPad and surface rival Nexus 7. This tablet was unveiled in Google I/O conference (27/6/12). According to Modaco, Nexus 7 will have specs as rumored. Nexus 7 is a 7-inch tablet featuring a 1280 x 800 HD display with a pixel density of 216 pixels-per-inch, which is only slightly lower than the iPad 3 with its 264 pixels-per-inch screen density. The screen is covered with what is described as “scratch-resistant Corning glass” which is a form of Gorilla Glass.

This tablet features a front-facing 1.2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, a micro USB port and NFC.As expected  the Nexus 7 will run Google’s upcoming Android 4.1 “Jelly Bean” operating system , a platform about which very little is known at present and its the first tablet to run this OS,the new version of the software rethinks search as well, based on the massive revamp to the company’s search engine unveiled in mid-May.

The Nexus 7 is powered by a quad-core Tegra 3 processor and comes with either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage and 1GB of RAM. The tablet is powered by a 4,325mAh battery offering up to 8 hours of active user.

This device measures 10.45mm thin, weighs 0.7 pounds, and from the looks it looks more or less like Kindle fire.Along with this Google has also announced Nexus Q streamer,It’s an orb-like streaming-media device with a $300 price tag, that looks to act as the bridge between Android tablets and smartphones and your TV.Google has released a video where Hugoand other employers explaining features of Jellybean and Nexus tablet

    7″ is a little too small for me, but I can definitely see it’s use. Not that much ‘real’ competition in the 7″ market, I hope this will boost other manufacturers interest.

    It seems Google is offering more things for less price compared to present market. Can i know when will it come to Indian market??

      In UK they are releasing in mid July….no news in India,but it ill be available in ebay.in before Indian launch..stay tuned to Techbu..we ill give you a headsup
