After a long wait, Samsung has finally launched its self made Operating System smartphone with the name – Samsung Z. Tizen, which was rumored to be developed since a long time, is out now. It is based on Linux and is not solely developed by Samsung. The OS is produced by Samsung and Intel, in collaboration through an assortment of different manufactures and developers. As said by the Korean firm, this OS is designed to offer reliability across different platforms like smartphones, TVs, tablets and also to vehicles in the near future to take user experience on another level.

Samsung Z Specs and Features:
The smartphone is not different from other top-end devices made by either Samsung itself or other manufacturer’s flagships. What’s different is the OS which is first to be seen in any device still lets look what this new smartphone has under hood for the users.
Display and Body:
It comes with a 4.8 inches Super AMOLED touch screen having resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (306ppi) which is just like Galaxy S3. Samsung Z packs a design inspired from Galaxy series a bit but looks different as it is a slim & sleek device with angular body. While it measures 138.2x 69.8x 8.5mm and weighs 135 grams.
OS, CPU and Memory:
As the title says, Z comes with the in-house made OS from Samsung i.e. Tizen (v2.2.1). The Operating System bears a resemblance to TouchWiz UI but comes with slight differences in styles like round icons. Nothing more is revealed by the firm about OS but Samsung promises to make better optimization, multitasking and fast startups with its new OS.
Talking about Samsung Z’s processor, it packs a quad-core unit clocked at 2.3 GHz complementing with 2 Gigs of RAM while the phone holds 16 GB internal storage expandable up to 64 GB.
Camera and Connectivity:
There is an 8 megapixel snap shooter on the back side supporting 3264x 2448 pixels resolution while on the front, 2.1 megapixel camera will be ready for capturing selfies. Its camera also features Best Photo, Mini mode, Drama, Dual Camera, Quick Shot and Panorama. On connectivity part, Z supports 2G, 3G and 4G LTE Cat as well. It features Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Hotspot, IR Remote, Bluetooth v4.0, NFC, GPS, Infrared Port and microUSB v2.0 also.
Apart from the above specs, the 2600 mAh battery operated smartphone holds some other value-added features too which include Fingerprint sensor, Heart rate sensor, Color theme customization, Download Booster, Ultra Power Saving Mode and S Health 3.0.
Samsung Z Release Date and Price:
Samsung revealed the release date of this smartphone in Russia scheduled to be in Q3 this year and said will be releasing it in other countries afterwards while the firm remains silent on the pricing details.
The design of the phone looks old, also, its back side has got panel faux leather stitching which was seen in Galaxy Note 3 as well and front looks like Samsung’s Wave series devices which are no more available in the market.
