The successor of HTC ONE X smart phone , HTC ONE X+ is here with a price tag of RS.40,190 announced today by HTC India. ONE X+ is in every terms and specs is better than HTC ONE X and is definitely a tough competitor to Samsung Galaxy Legacy. The thing that its predecessor lack was that its having no option to expand its memory but still in HTC ONE X+ there is no option to insert Micro-SD because of its thin and slim design but this problem was overcome with increase in internal memory to 64GB from 32GB and 25GB Dropbox memory. So, in total with all new ONE X+ you get 89GB of huge storage in your mobile. The processor and battery are the few things which are upgraded in it.
Talking of its Specifications and features
The design is iconic, minimalist and corners are curved smoothly that flows around phone’s edges is made with light weight polycarbonate unibody with 2.5D Gorilla display of 4.7 inch Super LCD 2 and has a screen resolution of 720p HD. Its design is so sophisticated that it offers viewing capabilities even at extreme angles.
SOFTWARE & OS
HTC ONE X+ straight out of the box directly comes with JellyBean 4.1 Android OS along HTC Sense. Built in Beats Audio gives Studio like sound quality. Video pic helps you to capture a 6 MP photo while recording video simultaneously . Continuous shooting in one go captures 99 photos in a row. Best shot relieves you from the hassle of picking the best picture out of the rest which you take using continuous shooting. From HTC Watch 2.0 you can rent or buy thousands of shows and movies. And at last the HTC MEDIA LINK HD which allows you to stream all your mobile content wirelessly over your HD TV.
HTC ONE X+ is equipped with 8 MP rear camera with auto focus, LED flash, and BSI sensor for better low-light captures which gives you a stunning video recording and playback quality of 1080p HD. Its front camera which is 1.6 MP is just not only for video calling and chatting but also can record 720p HD video. The one feature i liked about it when taking self-portrait through front camera is that it is not necessary for you to click on the shutter icon to get shot. Still one thing always disappoints me that in spite of its high-pricing there is no dedicated physical key which too was absent in HTC ONE X.
Processor & Battery
Two things that gets a lot of exposure in HTC ONE X+ is the increase in processing speeds which clocks at 1.7 GHz and is powered by NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor with this time has a considerably increase of clock time of 200MHz from HTC ONE X.
Though previously HTC focused on how to increase battery backup by using 1800 mAh battery which was a great success from HTC side but the consumer always looks for higher mAh battery rather than the fact how the phone manages the power efficiently. But this time with a powerful 2100 mAh battery, HTC is giving no chance for the buyers to have second thoughts about the phone with the same efficient power management in ONE X+ from the chipset, networking, display, operating system and preloaded applications.
As far as the connectivity is concerned it is well equipped with Gyro, Digital, Proximity, Ambient light and G Sensors. It comes the latest NFC3, Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX™ enabled, WiFi, DLNA for wirelessly streaming media from the phone to a compatible TV or computer and micro-USB 2.0 (5-pin) port with mobile high-definition video link (MHL) for USB or HDMI connection. It comes with Micro-Sim Slot so to use any sim on HTC ONE X+ you have to first cut the sim leaving the part which consist of the chip and insert in it which now these days are common in this kind of flagship phones.
In terms of memory it makes all the smartphones in front of it small kids because it comes with a huge storage of total 89GB [64GB internal memory + 25GB Dropbox memory for two years only] . It doesn’t comes with an option to expands its memory with Micro-SD but looking into its internal memory there is not even a need for that too. At last the RAM of it is 1GB which I don’t find suitable for such a flagship phone if it could have 2GB than it would have made a sensation in the market.
Should you buy HTC ONE X+?
Previously when I wrote about “Should you Buy HTC One X or Not?” I said you to not go for it and wait for Samsung Galaxy S3. But this time seeing all the improvement in Processor, Battery,Memory and Camera in HTC ONE X+. I suggest you to not look anywhere else and straight away go for HTC ONE X+.
