After a very long and intriguing wait, Google finally pulled the covers off their latest Nexus smartphone. Yes guys, the Nexus 6 is finally here and brings some very interesting and never seen before features. Lets do a detailed review of the latest offering from Google.
After the numerous leaks regarding the Nexus 6’s screen size, we now finally know how big the Nexus 6 is. As some rumors suggested, the Nexus 6 comes in with a 5.9″ QHD display with a resolution of 2560 X 1440 pixels, churning out an impressive 493 ppi. Quite impressive, dont you think? On the back you have a 13 MP shutter along with an LED flash while the camera on the front has been kept 2 MP to cater to all your selfies.
Going under the hood, you’ll find a very powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset with a quad-core Krait 450 CPU clocked at 2.5 GHz and an Adreno 420 GPU. Also featuring on the smartphone will be 3 GB of RAM. The internal storage memory on the device is still in question as Google did not specify whether the device will be having 16 GB or 32 GB of memory on-board. So our guess is that the device will be made available in two variants with different on-board storage memory options.
The powerful processor and the QHD display are gonna be using up a lot of battery for sure and Google has kept that in mind while designing this device. The Nexus 6 is powered by a huge 3,200 mAh powerhouse and the large capacity is not its only feature. The battery on the latest Nexus smartphone also features the Turbo Charge which lets you get upto 6 hours of usage on the smartphone with a mere 15 minutes charge. This also means the Nexus 6 gives you more than 24 hours of usage time on 100% charge. Atleast that is what Google says about their latest offering. Sounds impressive, right?
Talking about the software running on the Nexus 6, we have something that all Android fans had been waiting for a long time and seem pretty excited about it. The Nexus 6 runs the latest version of Android: Android 5.0 A.K.A Android L or Android Lollipop. Nexus 6 is the first device to do so and coming from Google, we sure expected this. While many Android developers have already got a taste of the Android L, thanks to its developer’s preview, the furnished Android L brings much more.
One thing that still remains a mystery is the dimensions and the weight of the Nexus 6 as Google has shed no light on these specs. As for the availability, the Nexus 6 will be made available in the beginning of November through the Google Play Store in black and white colors with the option to choose from the 16 GB or the 32 GB memory options. Pre-registrations start on October 29th.
Want to get the Nexus 6 through your preferred carrier? Dont worry as all major carriers in the US, including Verizon have announced they too will be offering the Nexus 6. Availability on the carriers still remains unknown though.
Get ready to shell out some money if you plan to buy the Nexus 6 as it is the most expensive Nexus device till date. The 32 GB variant will set you back by $649 while the 64 GB variant comes in a little costlier at $699.
The Nexus devices from Google have all proven to be a success till now. Thanks to the great features they offer at not-so-high prices. Will the Nexus 6 too be a success or will the price tag be the reason for its failure? We can just wait to find the answers to these questions. Till then, stay tuned for more updates.
