Micromax Launched YU Yureka Smartphone with Cyanogen OS for Rs. 8,999

Today at the YU Launch Event in New Delhi, Micromax launched the very first YU smartphone named Yureka. The YU Yureka smartphone is priced for Rs. 8999 and runs on Cyanogen OS. The device will be exclusively available on Amazon India only. YU Yureka will also open to the public with a flash sale system just the way Xiaomi did on Flipkart. The registrations for the flash sale will start from tomorrow and the sale will open in the second week of January 2015. Before you register YU Yureka smartphone let us first go through the specifications of the smartphone.

The YU Yureka smartphone has 5.5 inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels with a pixel density of 267 pixels per inch and comes with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The dimensions of the device are 154.8 x 78 x 8.8 mm. It runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat based Cyanogen OS 11s which is more focused on customization and security. The phone will receive monthly software updates. It is packed with 1.5 GHz octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor and Adreno 405 GPU with 2 GB of RAM. The device comes with an internal storage of 16 GB and has a micro SD card slot expandable up to 64 GB.

The rear camera is 13 MP with LED flash that can shoot video of 1080p at 30 frames per second and 720p at 60 frames per second. The front camera is a 5 MP and has an OmniVision 5648 sensor with 71-degree wide viewing angle. The YU Yureka is a Dual SIM smartphone with 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS with A-GPS. It comes with a 2500 mAh battery and can survive up to 7 hours on LTE connection. Yureka also has a doorstep replacement and repair facility.

The device supports development, unlocking boot loader and rooting the device will not affect warranty. Even the company will themselves provide with all the kernel sources and other root files for development on this device. After the launch of the YU Yureka even the smartphones like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G seems to be slightly overpriced products.
