Both the models of S6 are made out of metal body with the front side entirely made of glass and have a Corning’s Gorilla Glass 4 display. Making the entire front out of glass do make it look sexy but it attracts a lot of smudges too which is not at all good. The Galaxy S6 looks like the Galaxy S5 where as the Galaxy S6 Edge with two curved edges looks more like the Galaxy S and nothing like the Galaxy Note Edge which had one curved edge. The bottom side looks exactly like the one Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have, with speakers, a Micro USB slot, a 3.5 mm jack, a microphone and plastic strips for receiving network signals.

Both the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge have a 5.1 inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display of 1440 x 2560 pixels with a pixel density of 577 pixels per inch. The flagship devices comes pre installed Android 5.0 Lollipop along with TouchWiz UI which Samsung says is more lighter and flexible like never before. They run on 64 bit octa core Exynos 7 processor and have 3 GB of RAM to run various apps and services. They come in three storage variants of 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB. Unfortunately the storage is not expandable as there is no slot for additional memory card. The battery is 2550 mAh non-replaceable battery. Doesn’t that sound like Apple? Pretty much.

The Galaxy S6 has dimensions of 5.6 x 2.8 x 0.27 inches and weighs 138 grams where as the Galaxy S6 Edge has dimensions of 5.6 x 2.8 x 0.28 inches and weighs 132 grams only. Both of them have a rear camera of 16 MP and front one of 5 MP. You can record 1080p videos at 60 frames per second using the rear camera that also comes with a LED flash. The performance of camera has improved a lot as compared to previous Galaxy flagship models. The phone is not at all water proof, it even lacks the nano coating that could have made it semi waterproof.

Double tapping the home button launches the camera app and the same home button can be used to scan your fingerprint. Samsung has improved its fingerprint scanning software. Flagship devices have wireless charging built in allowing users to charge  20% of the battery in about half an hour and while charging from a charge, 30% of the battery can be charged in about half an hour.

Final verdict, the overall looks of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge is awesome. The overall performance is great, thought it lacks the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 but the new Samsung Exynos 7 processor is also not that bad. This is the best smartphone Samsung is gonna ship in ages.

  1. Both the smartphones are good one but they are little bit too high on pricing factor. Samsung has to keep them at least to 50K
