Although most ‘top 10 Smartphones’ list features Samsung and HTC at the top, at this moment, Sony Xperia is reigning the low-end Smartphone market. Xperia Tipo comes with a Cortex A5 CPU clocked at 800MHz, 2.9GB internal storage and 512MB RAM. It has a 3.2-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with resolution of 320x480p and pixel density of 180ppi. The 3.15MP camera may not be a winner, but the battery life is quite good compared to most Smartphones these days which makes it the best Android phone under 10000 INR.

Overall, there are three big ticks in Tipo’s favour: stable performance, Android ICS and the battery life. However, the camera might be a downer for a lot of photography enthusiasts.

The Scorpion CPU and Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 chipset form a powerful combination that is supported by a standard Li-ion 1200mAh battery. A 5MP autofocus camera with LED flash is a decisive improvement from Xperia Tipo.

Xperia Mini has a custom, imaginative UI, the clean and classic Sony looks and 1GHz processor. However, as a GPS device and a camera phone, it is still not the best.

Samsung has designed the phone with such finesse that you could easily take it to be a low-end BlackBerry in a fleeting glance. It has a 2.4-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen of 320 x 240p resolution. A primary camera of 3.15 MP and a secondary VGA camera are present in the device. The 832MHz processor backs up the Android Gingerbread OS equipped with 384MB RAM. The standard Li-ion 1350mAh battery may not seem a lot, but it is sufficient for the phone.

Smasung TouchWiz UI, QWERTY keypad and optical trackpad- all three work in favour of the phone. However, the small screen is a letdown when you use apps.

Mobiles under Rs 10,000

  • Micromax Canvas 2
  •  Micromax Canvas Juice
  •  Xolo Q700s
  • Nokia Lumia 510
  • Nokia Lumia 520
  • Panasonic T31

Above mentioned mobile devices also come under the price bracket of Rs 10,000. We have excluded them from our top 5 list because of many factors. The most common factors can be battery backup, built quality, average camera, software backwardness, absence of proper support and much more.

However, the devices are good at some points but quite much bad at various aspects. The top devices we have listed are among the best till now and can be considered as the key players of devices under Rs 10,000 tag

I would certainly choose Xperia Tipo as the best phone available under 10K INR. It has a reasonable price tag, but even for a budget phone it has not compromised quality. The look is certainly not comparable to Xperia Mini’s, but in terms of performance, it outdoes all the other contenders on the list. However, if you are picky about camera and audio quality, I would have to point you to HTC Wildfire S.

If anyone is ready to increase their budget little bit then, I would suggest Spice Steller Horizon. Those are thinking to buy a tablet, spice steller is the best option for them, because it possesses 5 inch screen, which makes this mobile quite different from others. It is quite similar to Micromax canvas, but if you compare performance then Spice is always a best option.

    Yes my dear Mandip
The reason behind saying this is my own personal experience. I had myself used Micromax A110’s previous version so called Micromax A100. I have also written a review on this. You can check thin here- http://www.technoinsta.com/micromax-canvas-a100-smartphone-launched-review-features-and-price/. Looking at the features, the phone looks excellent, no doubt. But there is something called Customer satisfaction. I have got many such complaining mails in my inbox regarding the phone not working after few days. And at present i am Sony Xperia Tipo user 🙂 Based on my experience, i have made the list and it looks good to me. However, we all can have our own list of Top 10s. I would love if you share your list with us. Thanks

Could you please elaborate why Sony Xperia Tipo is having a reasonable price tag. It runs Snapdragon S1 SoC which is outdated. Yes, 512 MB RAM is there. Performance is decent not too fast. Primary camera is 3.2 MP, no front camera. HVGA resolution with poor 170ppi pixel density. How can you say it’s priced according to its features? IMO, Micromax A110 is reasonably good in all respect. Only negative of the handset Micromax brand.

      U r absolutely right..Manidip…
A110 is the best phone despite its brand name…..
