Updated List of Smartphones scheduled to Receive ICS Upgrade in 2012

Not too long ago, Google released the source code for Android v4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich which followed the launch of Google’s flagship ICS phone – Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Since then, several Smartphone manufacturers have started to work on building customized version of ICS for their devices.

Android v4.0 ICS is pretty different from Gingerbread & Honeycomb because it works well for both Smartphones & Tablet PCs.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus was launched in Q4 2012 yet it managed to gain a lot of love from the Tech Community, primarily because it ran of ICS. It also managed to grab a place in the list of Top 10 Brilliant Gadgets launched in 2011.

The stock version of ICS has been optimized to work without physical button, it works with all capacitive basic navigation button but most of these phones have physical button. I would be glad if phones like SE Xperia Arc S gets ICS without those capacitive buttons because improved user interface is just one benefit of ICS, there are several other core benefits of the update.
