Google Plus Logo

Google Plus LogoGoogle+ slowly but surely created an ever stronger pull, which you cannot escape more quickly. Whether you want to bring a company forward in the web or whether one that specializes in Personal Branding: Google+ has come to stay. Google+ is definitely “Unfortunately cool”!

Google+ is however not at all rite and even if we had to hear this year “corny Google+ IS” at conferences or even phrases like “Google+ already has ALL words” may not obscure the fact that the makers have cobbled together a very clever tool that is refined properly.

Google plus

Google+ is a Latecomer

Problem: Google+ had a weak startFacebook and other social networks were established in mid 2011. When Google+ was launched, it was ridiculed.  “On Facebook – Google+ not come close,” it said. “Google+ is a ghost town,” many said – well established media. The strategy of Google to launch its own social network with security in many places was poorly planned and executed, and you would have saved yourself a lot of trouble.

But let’s get to what makes Google+ first “Unfortunately horny” and second, “clever.” Google+ is a social network, but has a completely different approach, as is the case for example in Facebook. Purely strategic one could also use Google+ among others to expand their reach – if it were only the only meaning. Facebook has this primary sense, because it is not integrated into a network, how it has to Google and thus Google+. Can Google+ beat Facebook? We do not know; who cares? That must not be, because the integration of Google+ into more and more Google services makes it clear where we are going.

“You can run but you cannot hide!”

Background: Google is a search engine that thrives on the users in many cases is very pleased. To maintain search quality, Google does a lot. Among other Google+ operate. The advantage for all who participate: You can now position and ensure that in the future just does not have to jump onto a fast moving train.

With Google+, Google intends to establish not only a private social network. The Google+ currently has 100 million active users and these users show incidentally that the concept works well. We agree, on Google+ there are not as many people as compare to Facebook. But the real goal of Google is to get social data; to achieve this goal there are already more than enough users. Statistics suggest one can read with such a large amount of people already interested in what the general mass. There are always outliers upwards and downwards. The average value is to adapt. This principle is called the “law of large numbers”.  And exactly this principle put Google in a position to capitalize on its network averages that may be included in the refinement of the search results.

There are large numbers of logged in users on the basis of the link with friends and brands present within Google+ personalized results that can theoretically change constantly. Google+ is definitely an advantage for industries such as search engine optimization for a new challenge. To respond to it, you have to Google+ back into view. The content is more important, even the author of the content is given a new significance. Google does not want to know what the best content is. Google wants to know who is the best author? And this project brings everything to a whole new level.

Reputation is number #1 currency on the internet

Let’s stay on content that will be written by different authors. For this Google has already introduced the Author Rank. Yet it may not affect the ranking. That will change, however, because it is logical and sensible. It behaves a bit like a book author. Who is known for good content is, as many people trusted. Trusted in the sense of such a person as that will produce in the future is likely to provide good content, because he has already done in the past. Google wants to stay away from the valuation basis “backlinks”. Traceable, ultimately, a backlink is relatively easy to manipulate. A human profile manipulation is not impossible, but much more difficult. And the Author Rank is inextricably linked to the Author Tag. In plain English: Only those who have a Google+ profile and Google clearly says that this or that content (on the verification of source and destination in a Google+ profile) from him (or her) is having (or) the opportunity to Author’s rank to drive up.

Google Authorship

But this is not enough! Author would rank only be defined over an existing Google+ profile, several other factors likely to incorporate Author Rank, it is always sporting. We can’t get success without Google+. So assume that such things as the number of districts, in which there is an author on Google+, are crucial to the Author Rank. The same applies to the set of interactions on Google+ that an author gets to its content (and even on sites with the +1 button).

How often an author publishes content on Google+ and how he interacts itself? If he mentions the sites on which he is Publisher? He writes frequently or rarely? What subjects he uses and how many people read it? Ultimately, all of these potential metrics have only one meaning: Google wants to know that who are the influencers on the Internet. This way creates a vortex that leads to that there will be more and more users of Google+.

Google+ creates suction and pressure equally

Similarly, the story will develop for businesses. Today it is still often said: “We have a Facebook page with lots of fans; ranging us we do not need Google+ company page.” Can you see it, you should not. Reasons: With a Google+ Page, you do not try absolutely beside Facebook to build a long range. While there are people who are already quite well no longer active on Facebook, but only on Google+. But this is (still) a minority. Much more important is a Google+ Page for business. This means that with such a presence on Google+ similar to having a personal profile can ensure that content that is self-published, get a higher profile on Google – whichever appear as often content such as high quality they are and in the extent to which it responds to by others.

One thing should be obvious: If a company has a high quality Google+ Page, which produces a lot of good content, was surrounded by many and a lot of social interactions, such as +1, comments or shares given, then it cannot be a disadvantage. Quite incidentally, it actually also additional coverage will be generated, but the link to the actual website gets this a completely different meaning. Similar to the Author Rank for personal profiles the company’s website increases the reputation in Google because it has just produced good content and is associated with Google+.

Now a good author tries to write content on a reputable author website with a high rank, which has a powerful Google+ company profile. We can definitely assume that sooner or later the very positive effect on the rankings. As a rule, known authors enjoy a higher reputation for their good quality content.

On the Internet, there are also examples that provide the digital version into focus. Take Rand Fishkin – as owner and founder of SEOmoz, his name is as good as any person on this planet who even begins to seriously deal with the topic of SEO, a term. His reputation is high, its judgment is trusted. Completely clear that Google has the honor as “result rendering engine” in any form.

Google+ will cause a stir

Why Google+ is so damn clever? It compels us to the Internet as a final digital image of the normal life in the real world to recognize whether one wants to or not. Off course, this will not happen overnight.

The suction effects will provide in the coming months and years that Google+ gets bigger and bigger, powerful and influential. Privacy advocates probably already – but that is really another very unnerving story. And who always complains about “data octopus” like Google and Facebook, for we have some advice: “No one needs to be online, we do it all voluntarily.”
